Orthodontics is not just about straightening teeth.
Orthodontics is about achieving the beautiful, healthy smile you deserve for confidence that lasts a lifetime. Orthodontic treatment may improve not only your smile, but it can improve your health! Dr. T. Barrett and Dr. Paul G. Trotter use digital imaging and a detailed examination to create a customized treatment plan that results in a beautiful smile, a well-functioning bite and healthy jaw joints. Teeth that are better positioned are easier to keep clean! An accurate bite improves jaw function, increases chewing efficiency, provides long-term health to the jaw muscles and joints, and sustains the health of the gum tissue.
Orthodontic Treatment Has Never Been Better
There has never been a better time to consider orthodontic treatment at any age! Technology has significantly advanced the field of orthodontics, and there are so many options available to our patients. We offer traditional silver braces, or a more esthetic clear option. There are even removable options! Patients may often choose colors for their braces.
Teeth move to their determined positions with gentle, constant force that is carefully controlled. Using the latest and most advanced materials, we are able to move teeth more efficiently and with greater comfort.
Your Treatment Time
We will discuss your treatment time with you, as orthodontic treatment times can vary. Several factors may affect your custom treatment time, but overall the average treatment time is about 18-24 months. Orthodontics is something we do with you and not to you. The best way to stay on track is excellent compliance with appointments, wearing your rubber bands or other appliances as directed, maintaining excellent oral hygiene, and avoiding hard or sticky foods which damage braces. It all starts with scheduling and attending all appointments on time so that we can help you meet your goals.
